The University of Wyoming Cowboys compete as members of the Mountain West Conference in NCAA Division I FBS football and in NCAA Division I basketball. Wyoming, which has the distinction of being the only four-year institution in the only state which has only one four-year institution, is a public land-grant university located in Laramie, Wyoming, about an hour west of Cheyenne. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 12,000.
