The Northland College Lumberjacks (Lumberjills for the women's teams) compete as members of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Northland is a private Church of Christ institution located in Ashland, Wisconsin, on Lake Superior about two hours east of Duluth, Minnesota. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
