The Delta State University Statesmen compete as members of the Gulf South Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II football and basketball. Delta State is a public institution located in Cleveland, Mississippi, about an hour northwest of Jackson. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
