The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, generally referred to as "Charlotte", 49ers compete as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference in NCAA Division I basketball. The school has not sponsored football in quite a long time, although there is currently a considerable effort underway to change this. UNC-Charlotte is a public institution located in a suburban portion of Charlotte, North Carolina. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 17,000.
