The Salem International University Tigers compete as members of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II basketball. The school has not sponsored football since 1988. Salem International, formerly "Salem College" and "Salem-Teikyo University", is a private non-sectarian institution located in Salem, West Virginia, about halfway between Charleston and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
