The Brigham Young University Hawai'i, or BYU-Hawai'i, Seasiders compete as members of the Pacific West Conference in NCAA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football. BYU-Hawai'i is a private Latter-Day Saints institution located in Laie, Hawai'i, on the far north windward shore of Oahu, about 45 minutes from Honolulu. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
In March 2014, the university announced that the athletics program will be closed after the 2016-17 academic year.
