The Arkansas State University Red Wolves compete as members of the Sun Belt Conference in NCAA Division I FBS football and in NCAA Division I basketball. Arkansas State is a public institution located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, in the northeastern corner of the state about an hour northwest of Memphis, Tennessee. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 11,000. The school's teams were formerly known as the "Indians", but due to sensitivity issues the nickname was changed effective with the 2008 football season.
