The Amherst College Lord Jeffs compete as members of the New England Small College Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III football and basketball. Amherst is a private non-sectarian institution located in Amherst, Massachusetts, about a half-hour north of Springfield. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
