The University of Indianapolis, sometimes referred to as UIndy, Greyhounds compete in NCAA Division II football as members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and in basketball as members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Beginning in 2012, the GLVC will begin sponsoring football, and Indianapolis will leave the GLIAC at that time. Indianapolis, formerly known as "Indiana Central", is a private Methodist institution located in the capital city of Indianapolis, Indiana. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 4,000.
