The California State University, East Bay Pioneers compete as members of the California Collegiate Athletic Association in NCAA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Cal State-East Bay, formerly "California State University, Hayward", is a public institution located in Hayward, California, about 20 minutes south of Oakland.
