The Peru State College Bobcats compete in NAIA Division II as members of the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (1994-2015) in basketball, and in NAIA football as members of the NAIA Football Independents. Peru State, formerly known as "Mount Vernon School" and "Peru Seminary" and affiliated with the Methodist Church, is now a public institution located in Peru, Nebraska, about 90 minutes south of Omaha. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
