In 2014, all four top seeds had been eliminated before the quarterfinals. For the 201f tournament, the NAIA made alterations to the usual scheduling for the purpose of having the four top seeds play on the opening day of the tournament (thus getting a day off before the second round); it was probably not coincidental, then, that all four top seeds ''reached'' the quarterfinals in 2015, although it should be noted that their second-round opponents all also got the day off between rounds.
