MID-SOUTH:

#2 Carroll (MT) 35, #3 GEORGETOWN (KY) 3
The Tigers were completely shut down by the Carroll defense, and had no answer for the Saint offense. Their first loss of the season becomes their last, and the Mid-South Conference closes up shop for the year.

MID-STATES:

#5 SAINT XAVIER 30, #1 MARIAN (IN) 27
(Marian SID recap)
You’d expect no less from two teams which met earlier in the season as the #1 and #2 teams in the country; a see-saw battle which was only decided in the closing seconds. Marian had penetrated to the one-yard line before a bad snap resulted in a loss of four, and a penalty pushed them back to the ten. After an incompletion made it third-and-goal, Adam Weise tried to hit Julian Williams in the end zone, but the pass was tipped and hauled in by Saint Xavier’s Clayton Fejedel for an interception with only eight seconds remaining.

Saint Xavier will meet Carroll on December 17 in Rome, Georgia for the NAIA Championship.
