Another #1 seed fell this week, but it was to a #2 seed so not a huge upset. That leaves a pair of 1v2 games for the semifinals, and we’ll find out whether we get Game Seven between Mount Union and Whitewater on Saturday. Scores, SID recaps, updated standings, and this week’s schedule after the jump. The actual text is getting sparse, so apologies for the fact that for the next three weeks this is mostly just updated standings.
#2 Wesley (DE) 27, #1 MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR 24
The Crusaders were unable to overcome a 21-3 halftime deficit, though they gave it one hell of a shot. A stop with 2:41 to go gave UMHB one last shot, but at the Wesley 41 an incompletion on fourth down ended the comeback. That wraps up the 2011 season for the ASC.
#1 Wisconsin-Whitewater 34, #2 SALISBURY 14
The nation’s leading scoring offense was stymied, and the Salisbury defense showed all the same holes it had in last week’s second-round nightmare as the Sea Gulls got handled with little difficulty.
#2 Saint Thomas (MN) 45, #5 SAINT JOHN FISHER 10
There’s no other way to say it: the Cardinals flat got rolled. Both Empire 8 teams still remaining were eliminated, and the conference’s ledger slams shut.
MIDDLE ATLANTIC:

#2 SAINT THOMAS (MN) 45, #5 Saint John Fisher 10
Colin Tobin again carried the Saint Thomas offense, racking up 141 of the Tommies’ 408 yards, and scored twice — the second touchdown being the 50th of his career — while the defense did its usual job and shut down the Cardinals. The Tommies now head to Whitewater on Saturday. Should be epic.
#1 Mount Union 20, #2 WABASH 8
The Little Giants simply could not get any offense going until a garbage-time score late in the fourth quarter, and although the defense put forth a fine effort in limiting Mount Union to 20 points, that was more than enough. With the loss, the North Coast season comes to a close.
#1 MOUNT UNION 20, #2 Wabash 8
It was the defense that did the job for the Raiders, as Wabash was held to a late touchdown following an intentional safety. Mount Union will now host Wesley on Saturday in the semifinals, the seventeenth year in a row the Raiders have reached that stage of the playoffs.

UPPER MIDWEST:

#1 WISCONSIN-WHITEWATER 34, #2 Salisbury 14
Levell Coppage ripped off another 200-yard game and scored four times, while the Whitewater defense was able to stifle the triple-option. Whitewater will host Saint Thomas on Saturday in what looks to be a pretty titanic affair.
#2 WESLEY (DE) 27, #1 Mary Hardin-Baylor 24
The Wolverines leapt out to a 21-3 lead at the half, and then held on against a fervent second-half comeback to advance to the semifinals. Wesley will travel to Mount Union for that game on Saturday.
