SEASONS WILL PASS
lyrics: J. Morse © 1986
Resting amid the ruins of the year
Hearts are cold, wreathed in solitude
Hiding beneath the sheets of frost
Life begins anew, but we all pay the price
Up and down, circling around
We walk the streets
Lonely in the blackness of the night
Start to end, then back around again
Seasons will pass
As sure as dark gives way to light
Climbing through the stings of frozen fog
First signs of life, then it all goes down the drain
The ice melts away, along with frozen souls
And then we begin again at the start
The thaw is strong enough to burn away
The pain of another incarnation
The sun beats down upon you as you stand upon the hill
Throw away your pride
Up and down, circling around
We walk the streets
Lonely in the blackness of the night
Start to end, then back around again
Seasons will pass
As sure as dark gives way to light
As the sun descends to the horizon in the south
Day fades away without a warning, moon drifting by
Ever changing colors turn from green to gold and red
The air is getting colder, and the cycle starts again
But the seas will move around and round
Currents back to where they began
And, in a little time
Spring will pass this way again
Up and down, circling around
We walk the streets
Lonely in the blackness of the night
Start to end, then back around again
Seasons will pass
As sure as dark gives way to light
