MEMORIES ON A BEACH
lyrics: J. Morse © 1985
We left the party alone
And walked out to the shore
We spent the night alone
And talked 'til half past four
Then we slept the morning away
Tomorrow's another day
I remember everything so perfectly
The picture's never out of reach
Watching the stars on the beach
Even though it was dark and grey
The lights survive in my mind's eye
Flashing in the ebony sky
We woke in an entwined confuse
And looked up at the clouds
We knew that we'd never think
Of each other as out of bounds
Then we loved the day away
In the daylight, what can I say?
Even though it was light as day
Her skin remains etched upon my eye
Shining in the silvery sky
And if we wasted another day
Would we forgive ourselves for letting it slip by
Surrounded by the seagull's cry
And if we never meet again
Do we leave the beach as friends?
I remember everything so perfectly
The picture's never out of reach
Watching the stars on the beach
Even though it was dark and grey
The lights survive in my mind's eye
Flashing in the ebony sky
And if we wasted another day
Would we forgive ourselves for letting it slip by
Surrounded by the seagull's cry
