TUESDAY
lyrics: J. Morse © 1983
Demon lies in wait for me, luring me, biting me
Clouds pass before my eyes, I hear the lies, they hypnotize
Paranoia, lose control, takes its toll, lose my soul
Tell me why I must succumb, why've you come? Tell me something!
What'd I do? Why do they do this to me every day?
I don't understand; every week it's still the same
Say what you will, I won't listen anymore today
You kindle the fire, then you sit and fan the flame. . . and say:
"What can I do, what's wrong with you?
Are you feeling alright?
What did you do? What happened to you?
Will you make it tonight?
Won't you tell me, do you want me to stay?"
Ohh, no, just go away. . .
There's a building coming near, I shake with fear, see who's here?
To the top I'll prob'ly ride, help me hide, keep me inside
Near a window high above, feinting love, somebody shoves me
Sanity falls one hundred floors, past open doors, except for yours, of course
Help me I'm falling, why don't you lend me a hand for today
Don't let me go mad, please! Every week it stays the same
You know it happens, Tuesday every week, today's the day
Yet you push me anyway, from the hundreth floor window frame, and scream:
"What can I do, what's wrong with you?
Are you feeling alright?
What did you do? What happened to you?
Will you make it tonight?
Won't you tell me, do you want me to stay?"
Ohh, no, just go away. . .
I can't wait for the midnight bells to toll
It's the only thing that can save my soul. . . yet you still say:
"What can I do, what's wrong with you?
Are you feeling alright?
What did you do? What happened to you?
Will you make it tonight?
Won't you tell me, do you want me to stay?"
Ohh, no, just go away. . .
Please, please, just go away. . .
